Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump both referenced an essential scene in “The Matrix” on Twitter Saturday, and earned a sharp censure from the film’s co-creator Lilly Wachowski.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Musk got the show on the road with a secretive tweet Sunday, referencing the exemplary scene from the 1999 science fiction spine chiller.

“Take the red pill,” Musk composed.

While there was no clarification, the political ramifications were clear for Musk —  a vocal pundit of California’s reaction to the coronavirus who has opened his Tesla producing plant in insubordination of neighborhood shutdown orders.

In “Grid,” Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne) shows an unaware Thomas A. Anderson (Keanu Reeves) that he’s been carrying on with his typical life in a PC reproduction. Morpheus offers a decision: Take a blue pill and return to this life and disregard everything. Or on the other hand else take a red pill to gain proficiency with reality – that his reality is truly the Matrix, “a jail for your psyche.”

Anderson takes the pill and finishes his change into the Matrix-fighting legend Neo.

As per the Urban Dictionary, “Red pill” has become a well known expression in cyberculture and means a free-thinking mentality, and an awakening from a “normal” life of sloth and ignorance. According to a 2018 Wired article on the expression, “red-pilled” is “now generally comprehended shorthand for having your eyes opened to a specific sort of ‘conservatism’

These drove Wachowski to tweet a compact, NSFW reaction.

She caught up with a solicitation for devotees to give to Brave Space Alliance, a LGBTQ social administrations association in Chicago.

Musk has tweeted a lively “Framework” image envisioning a glaring Morpheus after Neo has taken both red and blue pills, including, “When u take DayQuil and NyQuil at same time.”

Yet, neither Musk nor Trump has reacted to Wachowski.

Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will come back to their popular jobs for a fourth “Matrix” movie, a creation that has been ended due to the coronavirus.

Lana Wachowski – kin to Lilly and the other co-maker of the record-breaking and reality-bending world of “The Matrix” –is set to compose, direct and produce the new movie.
